Obituary of Claudette A. Holland

Greenville, NY - Claudette Anne Holland, 93, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at home.  She was born on July 29, 1932 in Old Town, Maine to the late Ivan Lancaster and Cecile Messier. 

She graduated from Husson College in Bangor, Maine.  Claudette was happily married to James R. Holland for 55 years, until his passing in 2010.  Together, they raised four children (John, Maria, James, and Anne).  She was employed by the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk School District, retiring at the age of 85.

Claudette possessed a sharp sense of humor, a deep devotion to her faith, and an appreciation for wildlife (deer especially).  She enjoyed time spent with family, reading, and watching Hallmark.

She is survived by her sons, John Holland of NYC and James Holland (wife Jayne) of Delmar; daughter, Anne Amedure (husband Richard) of Rensselaerville; grandchildren, Michael, Kristin and Justin Hansen, Elizabeth Holland, Maxwell Maloney, Sarah and Michael Amedure; and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James R. Holland, her daughter Maria Holland-Ramse, and her sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Frank Fusco. 

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, NY on Thursday, June 25 from 3 to 6 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 4987 State Route 81, Greenville, NY on Friday, June 26 at 11 am.  Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
