Bill was such a kind hearted person taken way too soon. I loved working with bill because his positive attitude could make the day fly by. We both enjoyed our rock music. One of my favorite memories was when we both had tickets to the Motley Crue farewell tour at SPAC and didn't tell anyone because neither of us could get the day off. We both ended up calling out sick and seeing each other at SPAC and laughing about it. I was just thinking to myself last week that I need to text Bill and see how he is doing and now it is too late. If you are thinking of someone, don't wait. See you on the other side Bill.

Bill was a colleague at work (Wadsworth), but someone I only occasionally crossed paths with. But those times made an impression on me, and we did share a few conversations over the years. They say your first impression of a person is the most important. My first impression of Bill was very much a summary of the endearing qualities friends and families have already mentioned on this tribute wall. His passing made me quite sad, and I will miss bumping into him now and then to talk about nothing in particular……. as I was headed out the door at the end of another work day. I hope in time that all of Bill’s family & friends find some solace and peace after his passing -and that, per his last wish, y’all listen to some really great music in his honor.

Dear Sue and family,
Billy wrote a beautiful thought provoking obituary. Typical of his personality. I’m sure his next life will reward him for his life on earth. He’ll be missed but leaves behind wonderful memories for you. God bless and bring you comfort in knowing he is in good hands.
Sincerely,
Mitch and Jane Snyder

To Bill's Family and Friends;
I can honestly say I was happy to have known Bill. He always had a kind word and a smile, even in his toughest times. He was there to listen to me three years ago when I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease. He always had a good outlook and you can be sure his kind words helped to keep me going as well when I was in some of my darkest times.
I am sorry we lost him here on earth, but his infectious, wonderful spirit will live on.
Cherish the memories you were able to make here with him and have faith that you will meet again.
Vicki

The angels in heaven rejoice your arrival, while those left behind weep and morn. Gone way too young and way too soon, God only takes the best. A friend, confidant, sounding board, partner in crime, an amazing officer and coworker. You always had an awe inspiring sense of strength and calm, even when faced with the worst of situations. Your kindness and good nature were infectious. I’ll miss our easy conversation and your ability to make a double fly by. Your pain and suffering is over, you were an angel here on earth and now you have your wings. Fly high Mr. Bill, you may be gone but you will never be forgotten. My deepest condolences to the family, Bill loved you all dearly and talked about you often. It’s a beautiful day for a stroll on the farm with the slightest of sprinkles, just enough to let me know there’s holes in the floor of Heaven (and of course hide my tears).

I so so sorry for your loss. Bill was such an awesome person! Always kind, thoughtful, generous, hard working, but fun. Always a smile. Very smart, always thinking and quick witted. He was much to young to have lived through this disease so long. But he still put on a brave face, and I wasn’t there, but I’m sure he joked around with his medical team and caregivers trying to make a difficult situation easier and better for all. I am so sorry for your loss. And wish there were more men like him in the world for others to emulate.

I learned of Bills passing through a department email, not sure if it was the Bill I knew in high school I opened the link, Sure enough there was that infectious smile... I remember running into Bill years after high school and we entered into a discussion about something, just as if we had chatted last week. Bill will be remembered with fondness as he was one of those people that was enjoyable to be around. My condolences to the entire Loetterle family

Without doubt, the highlight of my day at the Wadsworth Center was when Bill was on duty. He was my daily dose of sunshine on those days. Always upbeat and smiling and just so easy and enjoyable to talk to. I hope the other side is a wonderful adventure! Condolences to all of Bill's family and friends.
